Kayla, the kids and I, recently took an excursion together. She needed some fabric for her headband business and I needed some inspiration for my upcoming Surface Pattern Design class. I knew that the upcoming 8 weeks of Bonnie Christine’s Immersion Class might get a little challenging. I thought a few pieces of lovely fabric would be just what I need to stay motivated and inspired. Missouri Star Quilt Company is just a 40 minute or so drive from my house so we picked that as our destination. Kayla packed a lunch and the kids, picked me up, and plotted a course for Hamilton, Missouri. I grew up just 20 minutes west of there and was surprised to learn that Hamilton has become the quilt shop capital of the world! Well, maybe not of the world, but there is some serious fabric there! We strolled through store after store of beautiful fabrics. You can read all about the company here. The kids did really well as long as we kept moving. We both found some beautiful prints that we just had to have, though it was quite a challenging decision figuring out which to buy. I’m sure we will be making a repeat trip in the very near future.
First a little lunch and some sunshine.
Then we hit the streets.
So many beautiful choices.
Even more upstairs.
I can’t wait to go back!
